***** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW ***** Spayed female ~7 yrs. old 92 pounds Vaccines given 5/15/24 Has microchip ALT ID# 05-15-24 11 Pet does not do well with quick movements, will snap. Pet does not get along with other dogs. Would do best in an adult only household as an only pet. *****Animals are eligible for adoption by the public after their stray hold period. Rescues are permitted to pull on 5/18/24; animal is also legally available for euthanasia on this same date. Any current rescue partners or rescues interested in partnering with our facility are encouraged to contact us at XXXX@applevalley.org or call us at (760) 240-XXXX ext. 7519 to coordinate rescue pull and transportation. ***** Behavior Observation 5/17/24 Gemma was initially a nervous gal, it took the handler between 5/10 minutes of sitting on her kennel floor and letting gemma smell her before she could touch Gemma. Gemma requires small and slow movements as the RVT and handler noticed she would snap with too fast of movements. AS the handler went slow an allowed Gemma to approach on her terms, Gemma did give the handler kisses and allow for head to tail touch if it was slow and seen the hand coming first. Due to the potential of fear biting Gemma would do best in a home with no small children. This behavior observation was performed by staff in the shelter setting. Please note that behavior observations are not a temperament guarantee.
