Haymitch is an 11yr old, neutered male, domestic longhair who came to Smittens Rescue after his owner passed away. Haymitch has gorgeous yellow-green eyes that immediately capture your attention, a sleek black coat, and the daintiest little "meow". He is very cuddly, enjoys being brushed, and loves playing with toys. He is very shy when meeting new people, so he will need a few days to adjust to a new home. Haymitch came from a multi cat household with dogs. He used to have a bad habit of urinating in his previous owner's kitchen, a habit that briefly carried over into his foster's home. Since being put on an oral medication called fluoxetine, this problem has resolved. It is possible for Haymitch to be weaned off this medication if he is the only pet in the home. Fortunately, Haymitch takes pills very easily when wrapped in a treat, because he is also on a thyroid medication called methimazole. He will need to stay on methimazole for life, with periodic blood tests to monitor his thyroid level.
